"The Key to Progress: Advancing Toward What Will Be"

Trying to reach a milestone’s finish line can daunting when you collaborate virtually and in different time zones, but it can be accomplished.  Creating the script for my website was a struggle at first, I wasn’t sure what I wanted visitors to see when they arrived at my website. After all, I am now a self-published author and I absolutely want to sell my books. But I wanted to share information, which is where this blog comes in. And in the interest of assisting other newbie authors, like me, I wanted to offer a few additional services, more on that later…

Back to creating a script for the website, I had a rough idea of what content should be on my website, but not too sure of how much or how little content I needed so, I decided to research what other author websites looked like.  I looked at both critically acclaimed and self-published author websites for inspiration.  I must admit, I was impressed by many of the well-put-together websites and the takeaway for me was to “keep it simple” and as I grow I can always add new components to my website. But so much more needed to be done to turn the books that I had written into sales and the journey had finally begun.

Collaboration on the website and revised book covers have indeed created an atmosphere of excitement for me, after all, I was finally seeing progress. The kind of progress that I’d always dreamed and hoped for in my mind’s eye, yet never made any real effort towards fulfilling the goal of selling any books, not that I didn’t want to. My initial plan was only to be successful at creating and self-publishing my books; seeing my creation in print and maybe teaching others aspiring to become self-published how to do the same.  This Idea was soon shelved as more important events began to transpire that ultimately turned my attention away from writing, temporarily…

“Progress lies not in enhancing what is, but in advancing toward what will be.”
